New Year is in full swing

We are more than halfway through February. Today, I finally put all the Christmas away!! I have been slowly working on it over the past few weekends, but today, the last of it went out in the garage unless I missed something. It happens every year. I look around, and suddenly, that one little thing, tucked away, is discovered.

Tax preparation was not so hard this year. It went pretty smoothly at work. I even got in a little trip to Mexico. I did bring work with me on my trip. I went and met my friend Linda and her husband. She goes often to Puerto Vallarta, and we have the same time share.

Unfortunately, it was not available at the time I wanted, but I could book a room and get my flight included and spa credits. I went for 5 days, 4 nights. I had a junior suite with an amazing view of the resort and ocean!! Linda met me in the lobby, and we had lunch together. It was so fun to see her. I checked into my room, she waited for her husband. It was humid and warmer than I liked, but it was so nice to get away.

I am actually thrilled I made it happen!! I did a lot of debating, but in the end, it was definitely worth it. I was grumpy on the way to the airport. I was wondering what I was thinking, but it was the most relaxing trip I had taken in a while. The company was great and I met some really interesting friends. I am thinking of doing it again!

I came home relaxed and ready to get back to work. I finished the necessary book work I had been procrastinating. I even started reading a book, took some amazing naps, and had amazing conversations with people. Linda, her husband, and I shared some meals together and generally had a splendid time together.

I was able to finish up the documents I needed to send out. I came home and relaxed while I slowly took down Christmas. No hurry. I got to enjoy them a bit longer, but I was ready. I have also been house hunting. I have had a desire for change. However, that helped me realize what I have. A new house would be fun and there are some nice ones. One without a pool and maybe a bit smaller, but the mortgage scares me. So, for now, I am staying put.

I would like a newer car and maybe some updates on the house to make it mine. We shall see. These are all things I am considering. I am feeling very fortunate in my life right now. I have a great job and enough money in my bank account to make me comfortable.  Life is good. My roommate also has a new job at Home Depot. He is really enjoying it, and things are going well. So that is it for now. After 2 1/2 years, I am feeling more settled. The cats are good and so cute. I have moments of happiness and satisfaction. It feels good.
