A wedding in Idaho

Cooler weather is here with it just below 100, and the evening is very pleasant. I am also feeling my spirit lift a bit as the weather becomes more agreeable. I have started walking occasionally with some church friends when I can. They walk about 2 miles and early, but now it will be more pleasant.

Brianna and Andrew, his brother, married them, and my niece Brittney was the bridesmaid

I went home to Idaho Falls, Idaho, to witness my beautiful niece Brianna, get married. Spending time with family was enjoyable. I helped a little, but not as much as planned. My mom fell the day before the wedding. The beautiful thing about it was that I went to the hospital with her and could be there to help her. Dad came through with patience and caring for her. She is still recovering but in good spirits despite the pain.

My poor mom

The wedding was beautiful. My parents couldn’t attend. It was really nice to see my family there. Everyone pitched in to help out during the very nice wedding. It was great to meet the family she married into as well. I forget how we love and support each other. I also got to see two wonderful friends while there. We have been friends for a long time. I admire both of them a great deal, and we had a wonderful time catching up. While we were there, we met a fellow Skyline High school friend who happened to be there at the same time.

Melanie, me, Gina, and Carmen

When I came home, I adopted a black 5 month old kitten. My roommate and I named him Buddy. He is very lively and full of energy and can be sweet. He will be my cuddler when he calms down a bit. My older cat is not too happy with me. They are starting to get along a bit better.

Me, my sister Viktoria (mother of the bride) and niece Clara

Buddy has changed the routine for sure. Two cats to feed and adjust to, one who wants to play continuously and the other who is sullen like a teenager. It has gotten easier now that we are two weeks in. They both slept on my bed one night with only a little hissing from Nala. Buddy was active around 3:30, so he got kicked out for a bit.

My roommate has been struggling, so he will be here a bit longer. Things always seem to go awry for him. We do our best to support each other, and thankfully, I still have my job. It has been a journey for sure. Life is not always easy, but it has moments of joy that I treasure. Thanks for being part of that.

  3. Hi Jeanette! I’m happy for you that you had a wonderful excuse to break your routine from home and enjoy family togetherness. Treasure that, not everyone has that. Weddings are always a joyous occasion but too bad your mom broke her arm. I hope it heals well and that your Dad doesn’t grow weary of taking on extra home duties because of it. He sounds like a caring man so I’m sure he will do fine. Seeing friends from the past is always nice. We all change in some ways so I think when we see our friends from the past it gives us a boost that we are all in this life thing together. I don’t know if that makes sense but maybe it does, somehow. LOL

Another Kitty?? How cute. It will be interesting to see how they grow together.

Take care, I think of you often.

    1. Thanks Kathleen. I think of you often too. Always brings a smile to my face. My kitty is active but I love it. Nala and him are doing better every day. Mom is mending, dad is doing well but it does take effort. Lol 😆
Thanks for being a good friend.
