I had an amazing but short visit to Washington state. It was a whirlwind and, per usual, did not get to see many people. It was great to see the kids and grandkids. I saw my granddaughter Destany and great granddaughter Lily when I first came. We had a few hours together. Lily was full of energy and thankfully not shy. We read stories and built a fort and played while Destany and I talked, and she cooked dinner. She is a good mom and hard to believe how she has grown up. We did not get to do the subsequent visit we planned but we got time together nonetheless.

From there, I went to my friends Julie and Terry, where I spent my first two nights. We had a fun time catching up before I headed out to see Sheila and her kids Izayah and Alayna. They have grown a lot, but Izayah the most, almost 5 inches. He came up to my nose! Astounding how fast they grow up. What I loved was that he came out of his room to be with me for a while. When Alayna came from the bus, she dropped everything and ran to hug me. That was a reward I needed.

It was great to see Sheila and her family. It has been 7 months since I last saw them, so overdue but sometimes that is how it is. Seeing the grandkids excited to see me was worth all the expense and effort. Wow, those people can make your heart warm. I only spent about an hour there talking and sharing but by then the little ones were done and I moved on to my dinner plans with Julie and Brenda who I worked with over 30 years ago at the airport. We had a nice dinner and time together.

The next day I was able to attend a Vasa meeting in Tacoma and was thrilled to see so many friends in one place. I got to visit and have lunch. They put on a good spread. These people are always so kind and warm to me. Loved getting to see them and talk with them. I was only there an hour, so not a lot of time, but then headed to my daughter Rebecca. I spent the night with her and we watched Mama Mia one and two. It was fun to just have the two of us. Sheila, Rebecca, and I went and did pedicures also which was a nice grown-up time.

I got to spend Sunday morning with Rebecca and Shelby. Rebecca made bacon and pancakes for us. It was amazing, and she said she doesn’t often do that. I got to see Shelby’s dad for a minute as well. We hung around as I got to play with Shelby, and then I went off to visit Beverly and Kathy, some friends from church, and move to my next place. We had a nice time, and Beverly and I went to my favorite Thai place. It was nice.

I spent the next couple of nights with my friend Dianne. I saw Linda and Loree in Gig Harbor and then Sheila and the kids one more time, and my time was up. It went really fast and so has my time at home. I had hoped to hear I had a Jon when I came home, but no such luck.

I came home and went to an event I volunteered to do that evening. It was fun, but I was tired and had a hard time the rest of the week. I was a bit depressed when I came back to be alone again. It makes me think my place may be there. The problem is picking up to move again. I have such a good network there in Washington with loads of friends and my family.

I applied for some more jobs this week. I had some guests stay overnight a couple of days, and then a neighbor who was having her house painted stayed a couple of nights as well, so I have had company, and yet, I feel unsure what the right thing is. Maybe there is no right thing it is just to choose something. I have had lots of meetings as well, all keep me thinking. I was glad to come home to Nala. She followed me around all the next few days and stays close. She even sat on my lap yesterday for the first time. Love that I have her. Lots of decisions still to be made but now you know what is happening somewhat.
