Completions

This past week has been about completing some homework I had been putting off until the last minute. I have had weeks to do it and in typical fashion left it for the last moment. I have decided that is more stressful than had I been doing it all along.

I am proud of myself for not giving up, which is what I thought about doing several times. I managed to get done the last bit of my homework, which was leading the introduction to the Landmark Forum to 3 of my classmates. I was so nervous I rushed through it in 45 minutes, which was a bit too fast. I did get some good feedback that can be usual in this situation as well as daily practice. Then I had my Leadership classroom over the weekend.

In the previous part of the week, I had been running errands and stressing about my homework. My center manager Nancy was gracious with her time, as were other class participants. I am so grateful for the time I have gotten to spend with them on many a Friday night when I had nothing else to do. They have become special to me.

Swea after work

I have also met up with some friends from a new Swedish group called SWEA here in Phoenix. There are a lot of us Swedish speaking women who live in the area. About 60 in our group. It is a lovely group of women. We had an afterwork dinner last night, which was fun, and we had 8 people come. It is a way to get to know people on a little deeper level. I will also be their Treasurer in the upcoming year.

I have been watching Love is Blind Sweden on Netflix. It has been enjoyable to see episode 5 now. They are in Stockholm and showing scenes from the city I have walked. I loved being there the few times I got to be there. It is also fun to see what may happen with these couples who signed up for this experiment. I myself am in a bit of an experiment. I have been talking to someone for the past month but we haven’t met yet. We have super strong feelings for each other and will be able to meet sometime next week. We will see if the attraction is still there when we meet. So far, we have discussed a lot of things, and it feels great. He calms me when I get stressed. He is away on a business trip and even managed to have someone hand deliver roses to me one day when I was feeling down.

Anyone else I was seeing pales in comparison and is now no longer a contender. One did not take it well, but I am no longer seeing anyone else. We will take our time and see how things develop, but I am feeling very fortunate. I am sure there will be lots to discover yet, but so far, so good. I had met some good quality men, but none have sparked my interest as he has.

Nala, the floofy cat, is doing well. She loves getting treats and has me trained that every time I go into the kitchen, she tags along, just in case I will give her one. She always sleeps near me but has been sleeping more consistently on me. I love that. She is a great companion. She got a new toy, a fishing pole with a little fabric fish on the end. She goes bonkers over it. Finally, a toy is exciting for her.

I have not started driving Lyft yet, but hopefully soon. Waiting on final approval. They have some problem with my driving record. No idea what it could be, waiting to see. My guest room has been cleared out for an Airbnb guest if I choose to have one. So progress on all fronts. Financially, I have pared down some expenses to be economical. No more cable, just Netflix and Amazon Prime, which is what I watched anyway.

This coming week will be some bookkeeping work and 1099s out to the subcontractors. I also have a couple of classrooms on zoom and a group accountability call as well and need to design a seminar for my class regarding my gratitude project to finish that up.
