Back to Sweden

I have made it back to Sweden. It was a long journey, which overall went really well. In Phoenix, a woman at the ticket counter said, “Have a nice flight and meet interesting people.” I said, “It wasn’t that kind of trip.” I think I had a bit of a bad attitude.

I had a lot on my mind and had been making some decisions that were tough to make. One such decision was whether to move back to the States. Things had not gone so well between my boyfriend and I. I made the decision that it was time to move back, get a job, and start living my life rather than waiting for things to happen. It was not an easy decision, which has gotten a little harder.

The fun did not end there because I met a man outside the train station and then a very nice couple from Germany while I was waiting for my ride. I’m not sure if it was because of what the woman said, or I was just open to it somehow. I hadn’t thought about it at first or if it just happened. Whatever it was, it was a long but interesting day.

That being said, on my trip home, I did indeed meet several interesting people. I talked to one person who sat beside each leg. One was going back to her husband after a trip away, another was going to Poland again because her paperwork was not yet in order so she could live in the states and a young man on a business trip. They were all super interesting to talk to. I also talked to a woman in the waiting area on the way to Amsterdam. I also talked to a man down in baggage claim when both of us were missing our luggage.

When my luggage did not come I wasn’t worried. I knew I had clothes to wear but hoped it would all be ok. I did not stress that I didn’t have a hairbrush. It was ok. The sad part was seeing my boyfriend and having to tell him I would be moving back. I honestly did not think he cared and was not sure anything would change he is sad. I am taking the cat because he does love her.

My big regret is that the Polish woman wrote her email address my phone so I don’t have it. If by chance you read this, Joanna, my email is jwsvensk@gmail.com. Message me. Overall, it was a good trip home but very long. Some things I thought I had worked out have not, but it will be ok. I have been tired and have been able to rest until I was ready. Almost back in this time zone.

  1. I’m just glad you’re coming back! There could be many reasons why the boyfriend is sad. Let him be sad. He’ll move on.

  4. I’m glad you made it back to Sweden safely and got your luggage back. You are a very social person and naturally draw people to you, so I am not at all surprised you met & talked to several interesting people! Change is hard. I know how you are struggling right mow, but all will work out once you and Nala settle in back in the USA. I am excited to be able to visit you more often and look forward to meeting Nala. Hugs my friend! Love you… Bev
