Tired

New living room

I have packed up my belongings and moved from Malmö Hyllie to Malmö Nobeltorget. It is much closer to town, about 10 minutes bicycle ride and in-between two good friends. Excited to explore this part of town. I have been around it but never explored here. It will be fun and so far has been quiet.

My collection of things has grown from two suitcases and a backpack. Now I have bedding, a mattress topper, dishes, a few more clothes, air conditioner, 2 bicycles and a clothes dryer. This apartment is a similar size but has a huge storage space up on the top floor I have full use of, so all the boxes, suitcases and such can go there. Which I won’t be using for the next 4 months.

New bedroom

I was very grateful to have help moving from friends. We rented a trailer and got it mostly in one load except the bicycles. I was frantically packing as it was a last minute decision to move on friday. Turns out that was a good idea since it rained all day Saturday. I left quite a mess in the apartment that evening because I was so tired. Got to the new place, unloaded, got the bed made, found the toothbrush and essentials but couldn’t sleep.

Kitchen

The next day was full of unpacking on a few hours sleep. I figured out how to get to the old apartment. Caught bus 3 and then bus 6. Took about 30 minutes. Cleaned for a couple hours and got about 1/2 way done, took out all the trash, defrosted the refrigerator, cleaned the oven all Norwex style. Washed windows, vacuumed and mopped. There were two showings on Sunday so had to do the best I could to get it presentable, otherwise I would have left it until Monday.

After I had done as much I could manage, I straightened up and did my best to make it look tidy so I could finish up on Monday afternoon. I bicycled to the new apartment after I started a load of laundry. It took about 20 minutes on the nice bicycle paths. It was nice to see different scenery. I went back to the old apartment to collect the laundry amd did a little grocery shopping and took the bus back home.

Nice big kitchen

I was pretty tired but Sunday I had to leave early to get to the apartment in time for the real estate agent to have the first showing. Had just enough time to unload the dishwasher and make sure all was in order. I took out my other bicycle, took the dolly back to my neighbor and bicycled back. On the way home, I met up with my friend to pick up a bit of cheese she had gotten for me in Denmark and come home and napped. Took a few things up to the attic storage and hope to unpack a bit tomorrow before I finish cleaning the old apartment and leave the key to my landlord. I am not a fan of moving. Here comes another week, ready or not.

  2. Wow! Another move. I like that you are closer to centrum. Now your couch can double as a bunk for an overnight guest. So staying through December… and longer? You’ve adapted well to life in Sweden!! Du trifs bra i Sverige! Miss you, but thrilled you are healing and finding your way. Kram!!
