Summer nights

Last night I went out in the afternoon. I met a couple friends a few hours later. There was a dj and music in a park near the main library. It was really fun. There were a few people to start and it grew to a nice amount. We stayed until the live music and went somewhere we could have a conversation.

I learned a few things yesterday I have reflected on. One is to do things I enjoy even if it is by myself. It may not always be fun but it often is better than expected.

Wheat fields in my own backyard

Going out with friends is one of my favorite things. I need to do it more often and say yes to more things with music.

Go outside and take at least a 15 minute walk every day, which will often turn into more. Go in a different direction or the same and there is always something new to see. The season changes the way it looks, maybe a slightly different path is discovered, and listening to music helps.

Ride my bicycle more. There are so many bicycle paths and I can see different things. My cousin lives just 8 minutes away and there are so many options. I have the perfect opportunity to explore right now. The weather has been mild but that is how I like it. Not to warm, not too cold. Lagom, the perfect balance. It is a great Swedish word.

Eat better for myself. Cooking for myself can be a treat not a chore. Enjoy trying new recipes and eating healthier foods for myself not because someone is making me or I am on a special diet but enjoying good food should be a pleasure. I should do more of it for myself. I need to be enjoying myself and take responsibility for my own actions. It all plays a part and I sometimes need reminding.
