West Harbor

Västerhamn (West Harbor)

It has been a tough week. The holidays getting closer have been bringing up some difficult feelings.

Concert Hall

I did go out and walk around the city when I went to drop off a package for a friend.

It was a beautiful sunny day. I met a man walking his dog and we stopped and talked and later a woman who had stopped to take a break from her walk home. She said thank you for caring and it made me think of how often we just rush by and aren’t aware of someone who needs a kind word.

Love the mix of old and new

Soon it will be a brand new year. A fresh start. Going to take it one day at a time. I want to be more grateful for what I have, smile at people and stop to have conversations when I feel inspired to do so.

Thanks for caring. I know you do. Love one another.

  1. Nice that you go out and explore the areas. It’s a nice way to meet people as well. I am hoping to get to Sweden this spring. Have to renew my passport and had hoped to continue on from Reykjavik after a travel trade show, but I was not able to combine my ticket with an extension, so I have to make a special trip. Busy now for Christmas. Vasa Frihet meeting tomorrow, dinner with my son later same day. Very nice membership meeting at Swedish Club last Wednesday and very good food, plus dancing around the tree. Feel young again!!

  3. I love the symmetry you captured in the old and new buildings. What will you discover tommorow?

  4. Good for you for making conversation with Swedes you meet on the street, they can be notoriously shy. The only time I’ve ever had a conversation with a Swede I didn’t know was in Gamla stan and it turned out that he was a fellow American looking to make friends but it was my last night in Sweden before coming back to the US so he had to keep looking. Nice guy, I hope he was successful.
BTW, I’m a friend of Mia’s, say “hej” for me when you get to Karlstad.

    1. That made me laugh about meeting the American. I talk to people pretty often actually. I enjoy it and I think they are amused. Thanks for reading. Mia is awesome. Will say hej.
