Tired

It has been both busy and not. It has mostly been busy in my head. I have been feeling very tired and only able to accomplish one or two things a day. I have had several routine doctor visits with blood draws and more to come. I have had counseling appointments and was trying to get my phone service switched over. The last has taken the most time. It was almost a month to get figured out with numerous online chats, which disappeared at the crucial moment, so I had to start over many times. I have been tired and less able to do what needs to be done.

I haven’t been anywhere to take photos, except doctor appointments and my own backyard. I am itching for an adventure. I have been creating some art for my gratitude journal from time to time but really need to get to work on it. I have not had the resilience to do more than I have. The weather is turning into something amazing with 60s in the evening and 80s during the day and sunshine! It is perfect. I have no complaints, and neither does Nala. She likes to lay at my feet when she needs attention. Best cat ever except when I need to trim her nails. It is not easy to do alone but finally I managed. They were getting to be a problem.

My blood pressure was quite high, but it has finally come down to a reasonable level. There was a medication I was taking, which elevated it, so I did stop that one. The anti-depressant wasn’t helping, so we just increased that dose and see what happens now. I have other routine things to do as well, like gynecologist appointment.

I did attend a fall festival for church and made rolls like mom always did. They were delicious. I only stayed an hour because I just get a little sad to not see my grandkids and have them close by. I sat alone until a couple I knew came to sit by me. That was nice, but I felt super uncomfortable being single. It was a chilies and soups dinner. The costumes were great, that was the funnest part. They had lots of activities for the little kids.

A few more days have gone by since I started this post. I’m getting a bit of recovery time before a busy weekend. I have been spending a bit of time with a guy I met. That has been nice. Went to a haunted yard on Monday. It was a friend of my brothers’. He did a phenomenal job, including an icee and hot chocolate place outside. I hadn’t seen him, that I remember since he was a little kid, but it may be I don’t remember. Halloween was quiet but managed to give most of my candy away. Glad to be in the gratitude month.

  1. It’s okay to be tired. It’s Autumn. The trees are shedding so maybe they are telling to just let things go. Relax, reflect and let go. You’re doing well.

Your rolls look wonderfully delicious. Yum. Nothing like the aroma of fresh baked bread. We missed you at Vasa Saturday. We celebrated Fritz’ 90th birthday and had an incredible Thanksgiving dinner. What a layout of food! We had a couple from Southern CA who is the (Grand?) Master of the Vasa southern district. Really nice couple. He told me he had been adopted and he did his Ancestry DNA recently and found a brother in Gig Harbor so he googled when our meetings were and came to visit. We are meeting the second Saturday starting in January and were discussing who had put it up online and it was determined it was you. So thanks to you we had these wonderful visitors. He said awhile back he heard an interesting story about a couple in the 50s that were sick and tired of the drug dealing in their neighborhood so they put an ad in the paper saying something like “House for Sale….This is the perfect house for those dealing in drugs. You have a waiting clientele and if the neighbors call the police they don’t come.” Come to find out it was his birth parents that did this. This was bad publicity for the police so they quickly jumped into action and cleaned the street up of drug dealings. It was just a couple blocks from Sons of Norway bldg. I got such a kick out of that story and thought you might also. Do you go to Vasa in Phoenix? Two friends and I drove to ND for Hostfest end of September. Last night there, I came down with covid and kept testing positive until October 21. The consulting nurse said that some people test positive for as long as 3 months. My wonderful Ukranian family that lives with me had a baby born October 2. He is so cute. Their daughter turned 4 Saturday and I am going to
start helping her learn abc’s, numbers, shapes and colors. I love to read children’s books to little ones and think that will help too. Will be fun. We had a torrential downpour Saturday morning. My windshield wipers could hardly keep up. Well, guess that is all the news at this end. Always love reading what you post. Hope they can figure out right combination for your depression. I have never experienced that but can imagine how hard that must be. Sending a virtual hugs….Karen
