Apladalen i Värnamo

The past few days have been like summer. I ran some errands, washed clothes, and cleaned the apartment. Put new sheets on the bed and put a few more things in my suitcase. I am nearby packed and ready to go. Tomorrow, Monday, I will make my way to Malmö for an overnight stay before I leave Tuesday for the states.

While I was out, I stopped by Apladalen. I had driven by one day but did not stop. I had it in my mind to do it, and yesterday was the day. The sun shone warmly, and it was fantastic. I had seen signs and knew it was something I wanted to explore, and it was a perfect day for it.

It was not yet open, but I saw enough to pique my interest. The buildings had been moved to the center of Värnamo. There are several acres of forests along with buildings from the 17th and 18th centuries. There was a coffee shop to have a fika, and when open, you can purchase wares from the different shops like iron, ceramic, and more. I look forward to seeing that when I return. I found several YouTube videos if you search Apladalen i Värnamo. You can also take a walking tour on Youtube.

The weather is cool this morning, and cloouds have formed overhead. Today, I will finish packing, whatever I forgot, well I forgot. The past few days have been about becoming present to gratitude and forgiveness to myself. Surrendering to life as it is without expectations or pressure to be anyone other than who I am. Forgiving myself for the mistakes I have made and forging ahead and being present in the now.

Great post! It’s always refreshing to hear about someone taking the time to explore and appreciate the beauty around them. The buildings in Apladalen sound fascinating, and I’m curious if you learned anything about their history during your visit?

    1. Thank you. I plan to go back and explore more. I did go home and found there is a love story involved. A couple who had to work many years to be able to afford to get married. Also the handiwork I expect to see when I return. Old style buildings were moved from other locations. I am excited for my next visit and discover a few things I missed.
