Car trouble

This past week was busy with driving lessons and studying, along with some time out with friends. I was uplifted at a conference over the weekend where I was inspired with love for humanity. It was full of informative talks, discussions amongst ourselves, meeting new people and deepening existing friendships.

After the conference I dropped off a person attending and was on my way to the drop off my friend Moa, when my car decided to break down. Thankfully it was close to a parking area, but, I had to figure out who to call.

With the help of my friends, I found out to call the insurance company and they dispatched a tow truck. It was picked up and dropped off at a nearby mechanic, who unfortnately, is not able to do more until next week. So I am without a car for a bit which will make practicing my new habits a bit more challenging. Public transportation is easy enough but inconvenient.

Nala

Nala is not adjusting as I hoped, so I will have her another week and see if she settles down. She has been meowing again, as she did when she first came, and waking me up. I want her to be content. I love her, but I may not be able to keep her. Time will tell. Getting her fixed may also help, but I don’t want to make that call if I don’t keep her. It is nice to have company, but not when she is discontent.

My health challenge is not going as well as I hoped. I started out well enough for a few days but then went back to my old ways. However, I keep listening to the information, engaging with others, and seeing where I can build new habits rather than fight the old. One step at a time. I have been deliberately making an effort to walk more, and my evening snacking is a bit less, although it depends on the day. I am proud of myself for continuing to move ahead despite challenges. Life is full of them, so I just keep pressing forward. Today, January 30th, would have been my wedding anniversary, which has been a bit tough but not like last year.
