I have enjoyed going to the local Loppis (flea market) to find second hand items for the apartment. I think I found some great things. My Christmas julbok had been placed by a woman who was downsizing and I was lucky enough to get to meet her. She was glad it was going to a good home. My lights are amazing and will be fun all year. My julros (hellibore) is a favorite. I am satisfied with what I have.

I enjoy riding the bus and train but it takes more time as they are not always available when I am so often end up very early or late. It is always difficult when you have a new route and not sure where to catch it or where to go after you get off but getting the hang of it. They have a great app to purchase tickets but it was down on Monday. Had to find a new way to get a ticket thru a different machine with a paper ticket. I like the app best. It shows a map and tells what position the bus will be at and even shows where the bus is. You also can see how long you have left to travel on your ticket if it is 24 hours or a single. I try to group my trips together to get the most of the ticket which is around $2.50 each way inside the city zone. More as you travel to other cities but still a good deal unless you do it every day then I think a monthly card would definitely be a good idea.

On my last trip to the chiropractor I enjoyed seeing some new parts of the city. I got to see the Östersund Park where you can see the sound between Denmark and Sweden and the Turning Torso building which is the tallest building in Sweden. I am including a link for those wanting more information. It was at one time almost alone but so much has been built up around it.

Waiting is very difficult. I feel a bit like a kid waiting for Christmas except not quite as much fun. It seems to be taking forever to get things done but there is good news! The paperwork is complete on my next apartment which I will be moving to in January. Not as central as the one I am in but very, very good and I will have a balcony and private laundry!!! I was able to shorten my stay at the Airbnb with just a few days overlap. I plan to stay at this next one until I decide what my next move will be.

Today was laundry and cleaning day. I was pleasantly surprised to see 2 washing machines, 1 large and 1 small and one dryer. It sure made things quicker. The laundry room was one of two and it was enormous. In many older buildings there is a wash room in the basement which tenants can use, no extra charge. You are expected to keep it clean. You also have to book a time to use it. This building gives you 4 hour windows to get your laundry done.

I inserted a card which each apartment receives and schedule a day and time that works. Then your card is your access to the room you have chosen on your day. There is also a mangle machine to press your clothes and two drying cupboards outside the tvättstugan (wash room) where you can hang your clothes to dry.

I have used one before so wasn’t totally foreign to me but as an American raised with tumble dryers this is unique. It has a blower inside to air dry your clothes. A lot of Scandinavians air dry their clothes on the wire racks in their home even if they have dryers. It saves money on electricity. This unit just speeds up the process.

Have yet to use one. Maybe next week.
I also did some general cleaning and since I have not been here even a week it did not take long but used my Norwex. Look forward to being able to get some things as soon as my bank account is up and running. I will then become a consultant in Sweden, Norway and Germany as well as keeping my current US customers. It is a great company with great products. If you want to know more let me know. I would be thrilled to be your consultant and teach you how to eliminate harmful chemicals in your home.

Tomorrow Madde and I are meeting up to do some shopping. I have some things I need like hangers and Command strips to hang my stars properly. Should be a fun day. She is great company! Hope you have a wonderful day. Stockholm is coming up this weekend. Very excited!
